How Pulsera care works

No jargon, and nothing moves. Here is what a care plan actually does, how it is different from your hosting provider, and exactly how we work on the site you already have.

Isn't this what my hosting provider does?

It's a fair question. Most hosts advertise backups, security, and uptime, and they do keep the platform your site runs on. A care plan is different work: the hands-on attention to your actual site that a hosting account was never built to provide.

What your hosting provider does

  • Runs and powers the servers your site lives on
  • Keeps the server itself online and patched
  • Takes platform-level backups you can restore from
  • Answers general questions about your hosting account

What a Pulsera care plan does

  • Keeps your site current and working the way it should
  • Fixes your site when something breaks, and puts it back if it goes down
  • Keeps your content current and publishes to your site for you
  • Keeps your site as accessible as your platform allows, aligned to WCAG 2.1 AA wherever we can edit its code
  • Gives you people who know your specific site, not a general help desk

Put simply: hosting is where your website lives. A care plan is who looks after it. You can have the first without the second, but the day something breaks or falls out of date, that difference is the whole thing.

    You keep your hosting

    Your site stays exactly where it is, on whatever provider you already use. We work with your current host, we don't replace it.

  2. Step 2 of 4.

    You stay in control

    You are never handing over the keys to your site. We set up limited access that you can turn off at any time, so control stays entirely with you while we do the work. We walk you through it in plain language and handle the technical part.

  3. Step 3 of 4.

    We learn your site

    We get to know your site and check it over, making sure it is up to date, backed up, and secure, so you know exactly where things stand.

  4. Step 4 of 4.

    We keep it cared for

    From there, the ongoing work in your plan happens every month, and we're the ones who respond when your site needs attention.
